Blind Swordsman: Zatoichi is a 2003 samurai action film, directed by and starring Takeshi Kitano (“Beat” Takeshi) as Zatoichi. It co-stars Tadanobu Asano as Ronin Hattori, Zatoichi’s protagonist. The film is a revival of the classic Zatoichi series of films and television show. It won the prestigious Silver Lion for Best Director award at the Venice Film Festival and went on to win numerous other awards internationally.
